Election related Experience

I've served as Returning Officer for graduate college and sat on elections sub-committee. I helped count the votes, set up the polling stations, and ofcourse run in numerous elections. I'm also know the chair of the UK electoral commission, (he's out of shot in the picture above) so I know who to ask if we run into problems!

On a serrious note, I've also run campaigns to increase the vote from graduates whose turn out rate is amazingly low, just 27 (out of 3,000) at the last LUSU election. With this sort of turn out the referendum might be in trouble. We need to move to electronic voting as soon as we can. I've discussed this with sabbaticals at other unions and there's no reason we can't. Electronic voting will make everyone's life easier, particularly mature, part time and postgraduate students. If elected I'll make the move to electornic voting one of my priorities - I've already done some of the ground work.
