More…The short version Dr. Andre Oboler is the Director of Online Engagement at the Zionist Federation of Australia. He is a social media expert and holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Lancaster University, UK and in 2007-2008 he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Political Science at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He is a former Legacy Heritage Fellow at NGO Monitor in Jerusalem, and edits ZionismOnTheWeb.org – a website countering on-line hate. Detailed biography Dr Andre Oboler is the Director of Online Engagement at the Zionist Federation of Australia, where he heads the Community Internet Engagement Project. He also works with the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission on their “Click Against Hate” program for schools. Andre Oboler has lived in South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom and Israel. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Lancaster University (UK) and a first class honours degree in computer science from Monash University (Australia) and has completed a Post Doctoral Fellowship in the Political Science Department at Bar-Ilan University (Israel) focusing in online public diplomacy. This talk, to an organization for Israelis living in Melbourne, focused on ways Israelis could act as a catalyst and a bridge to facilitate Hasbara from outside Israel. It also looked at some online security issues so people could remain safe.
